AN EVESHAM care home manager was celebrated for her outstanding work and dedication during the past year at a recent award ceremony in Ledbury.
Staff came together at Leadon Bank Extra Care in Ledbury for Shaw healthcare’s Central Regional Star Awards, to honour those who have been a shining light for care home residents, visitors and colleagues.
Mary Tasker, manager at Evesham’s Hawthorns care home was presented with the ‘Outstanding Managers Contribution Award’.
The prestigious award was given for the remarkable leadership Mary has demonstrated during her 12 years at Shaw healthcare. Colleagues describe her as being a ‘role model’ for staff – someone who is ‘incredibly supportive’ and always makes herself available to staff, residents and visitors alike, no matter how busy she is.
In total, seven awards were handed out to employees across seven care facilities in the central region. The winners will now go through a selection process, with some going through as finalists at the National Shaw Star Awards in November.
The awards were presented by Shaw healthcare’s regional director, Stacey Meredith and operations manager, Rachael Glover-Winfield.
Winners received certificates and hampers, while runner ups were handed certificates and gift bags.
