AN EVESHAM care home worker has been recognised for her outstanding contribution during the past year after being nominated for the annual Shaw Star Awards 2022.

The 13th Shaw healthcare national awards ceremony is being held this year at the Tortworth Court Hotel in Gloucestershire and will be hosted by Paul Sinha, best known for his regular appearances on ITV’s ‘The Chase’.

One nominee is based in Evesham at The Hawthorns Care Home. Mary Tasker, service manager at the care home, has been nominated by staff members and residents’ families for the ‘Outstanding Management’ award. This award celebrates those within management roles who demonstrate a high level of expertise combined with exceptional leadership skills.

Operations manager, Rachel Glover-Winfield said: “Mary has worked for Shaw for 13 years and in that time has led her service from a Good ‘Care Quality Commission’ (CQC) rating to an Outstanding rating. She has a wealth of knowledge, a heart of gold and has a passion for helping others.

“Mary always strives to improve the level of service at The Hawthorns as she wants the very best care to be delivered for residents. This nomination is thoroughly deserved, and we wish her the best of luck in the final.”

The awards aim to celebrate the achievements of outstanding staff members across Shaw’s 60 UK facilities, with all winners nominated by colleagues and selected by a panel of Shaw healthcare’s executive team.
