Man racially abused in Evesham car park

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was racially abused in a supermarket car park in Evesham.

The incident happened at about 12.40pm on Wednesday, June 15 in the car park in the Springfield Drive area when a man became verbally aggressive towards the victim as he returned to his vehicle.

It’s believed the offender took issue with the American and Confederate flags displayed in the victims’ car.

The victim was then subjected to anti-American racial abuse.




Members of the public intervened, allowing the victim to drive out of the car park.

At this point, a white Ford Transit-style van followed the victim’s car, beeping their horn at him.


The driver of the white van has been identified by the victim as the offender and police would like to trace this man.

He is described as a black man aged approximately 30 to 40-years-old, five ft 10ins tall and of medium to slim build. He had short cropped black, was clean shaven but with the start of a goatee beard and wore a dark green polo shirt with a hi-vis jacket.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call police on 101 quoting incident number 303s of Wednesday, June 15.
