A 58-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital after his car ended up in a ditch in Evesham yesterday afternoon.

It happened on Badsey Road at about 4.20pm and police closed the road between the A46 Badsey roundabout and Offenham Road for a couple of hours as a result.

It’s believed the Red Kia ended up on the other side of the road and plowed through hedges and a fence before coming to a stop.

The man was trapped in the car following the crash and was freed by firefighters.

Paramedics treated the 58-year-old driver at the scene for lower back pain and was taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch for further assessment.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash, a West Midlands Ambulance spokesman said.
