A MAN in his 50s was left with minor facial injuries after he was attacked by two men in the early hours of Sunday morning in Evesham.

The victim was walking along Avon Street, towards the High Street, at about 3.15am when two men approached him and asked him for a cigarette.

When he said he did not have any, one of the men started attacking the victim causing him to fall to the ground.

The two attackers continued to assault the man in his 50s whilst he was on the floor before taking a quantity of cash and a key from him.

They only stopped when a member of the public shouted out from a nearby window and the two attackers then fled the scene in the direction of the High Street.

The two attackers are both described as being in their early 20s. One was of slim build with blonde hair and the other was thought to be of a larger build with dark hair.
