A 30-YEAR-OLD man was assaulted by four men on Four Pools Lane close to the De Montfort School.

The incident took place between 8am and 8.20am on Saturday (February 21) when the victim was walking on the same side of the road as De Montfort School.

He saw the four men walking on the opposite side of the road in his direction before one approached the victim and physically assaulted him, punching him in the face several times.

Two of the other men then also assaulted the victim, causing him to fall to the floor and be kicked repeatedly.

The attack was only halted when a Vauxhall Astra drove past the assault and shouted out of the vehicle, causing the men to run off in the direction of Coopers Lane. The victim suffered minor injuries and attended the Accident and Emergency

department at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Two of the offenders were white men, around 18-years-old and 5ft 8ins tall. One was of a stocky build and the other was of a slim build and wearing a grey woolly hat and a light coloured hooded top.

Police are eager to speak to the occupants of the Vauxhall Astra and also two other women who were in the area at the time.

One was stood by the school gates and the other rode past on her bicycle.
