A MAN has been arrested in Evesham on suspicion of drug dealing and possession of a bladed article today (Monday, May 20).

The 36-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis after police raiding a vape store with Worcestershire Trading Standards.

The visit follows community concerns around the illegal supply of cannabis-based vape products and illegal vapes being sold from the Vape-Tech shop on High Street.

Trading Standards, working with West Mercia Police’s Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) discovered illegal vapes with an estimated street value of £3,000.

Ten cannabis vapes estimated to be worth around £15 each, cash, mobile phones, knives, a baseball bat, and an axe were also seized.

Police constable Adam Johns, of Evesham SNT, said: “This planned operation was in response to community concerns around the illegal sale of vapes and cannabis-based vapes which are also illegal.

“We found evidence of both items at the premises, as well as weapons, resulting in a man’s arrest.

“We are pleased to get this result and would like to thank the public for their help in building the intelligence in this case.

“We will always act on community concerns around drug dealing and the criminality that surrounds it, and would urge anyone who has information to report it to us.”
