A MAN has been arrested in Evesham after shots were allegedly fired

At 11.55am today (Sunday) officers responded to reports of a man firing shots from what appeared to be a firearm, in the Summerfield Gardens area of Evesham.

Armed officers and dog units were called and at approximately 12.40pm a man in his 20s was arrested and remains in custody at Worcester Police Station. A replica firearm was recovered at the scene.

At approximately 12.20pm this afternoon, a marked armed response vehicle was en route to the incident and was involved in a collision with a silver Ford Fiesta. No one was injured in the collision.

Firearms incidents are rare, but a large police presence remains on the ground in Evesham as investigations continue and to provide reassurance to local residents.
