A MAN has been taken to hospital following a two car crash on Naunton Road in Pershore on Thursday evening.

Emergency services were called shortly before 6.45pm and two ambulances, a doctor from Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS), the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and the MERIT trauma team with a second doctor on board attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: ““A man in his 20s was trapped in his vehicle and needed advanced trauma care by the team.

“Whilst they assessed his condition and started emergency treatment, the fire service worked to remove him from the wreckage. He was released about 30 minutes later and immobilised before being airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further trauma care.”

“One woman in her 30s had managed to get herself out of her vehicle prior to ambulance staff arriving and, upon assessment, was found with a head wound and various pains.

“She was given pain relief to ease her discomfort before being taken by land ambulance to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.
