A MAN has been airlifted to hospital following a crash between a car and a bus close to a town school.

The car driver has been taken to Coventry and Warwickshire University Hospital following the incident on Birmingham Road at the corner of Station Road at 7.35am this morning.

Officers praised youngsters from nearby Blackminster Middle School who were left temporarily stranded on their way to school following the incident, although no children were involved in the crash.

Evesham SNT’s tweeted: “The stranded children we stopped here were very polite and a real credit to the school. If you could pass on our thanks.”

Blackminster Middle School tweeted: “We’re hoping that both drivers are OK. So lucky that our children weren’t involved.”
