YOUNG actors from The Festival Players have thanked Waitrose chiefs for their £1,000 cash boost thanks to the stores community reward scheme.
Although the usual tokens at Waitrose could not be used during the Covid-19 pandemic, community lead Alice Haley ensured the Evesham group was one of three causes to benefit from the latest giveaway.
Aspiring actors Connor Hill and Alex McCullough and director Eric Jones were on hand to receive the cheque on Monday (May 11).
Despite the lockdown, the Players have been rehearsing online over Zoom ahead of the this summer’s proposed performance, Spider’s Web.
Dates have been arranged for the stars to take to the stage across the Vale this summer. If dates have to be re-arranged information will be available to those who may have already bought tickets.
If performances can be arranged, or even re-arranged for different dates, the group hopes to be able to offer a free seat for NHS workers who have been under enormous pressure for these few months.
