SUPERMARKET giant Lidl have applied for planning permission to demolition and then replace their store on Broadway Road.
Proposals were submitted to Wychavon District Council on Monday (August 1) to replace their current food store with a brand new state-of-the-art ‘Lidl of the Future.’
As part of the plans, the former St Richards’ Hospice building will be demolished to allow Lidl to build their 1,424m2 store.
The proposed store will provide 122 free car parking spaces, a bakery section and customer toilets and self-checkouts. It will also create up to 40 new jobs.
Bosses are hoping the new store will improve the presentation of their products and increase availability.
