Loyalty rewarded with the first raft of prizes

THE FIRST lucky winners of Evesham’s thriving Our Heritage loyalty card scheme were revealed with a prize draw in the heart of the town centre.

Launched last month, Our Heritage has won the support of a large swathe of Evesham’s hard-working independent retailers and loyal shoppers.

And on Tuesday (August 5), all the filled in cards were collected and Evesham Mayor Coun Charlie Homer was given the honour of drawing the three prize winners.

Vale resident Lee Fisher was the lucky winner of the £25 first prize while Tony Piper won one of the runners up prizes of a hamper from BONK on Port Street.

Evesham Greengrocers Fruit and Veg on Bridge Street hosted the draw and also donated a hamper for a runner-up prize, which was won by Anne Craghill.

Coun Homer said: “It’s great to see local businesses working together for the good of Evesham.

“No-one is profiting from this, and no taxpayers’ money has been spent. The traders are paying for this themselves.

“It’s now down to all of us to support the town, fill in the cards and get involved.

“It’s just a bit of fun and shows our support for Evesham.” he added.

Our Heritage was set up by members of the Real Evesham group, made up of traders who vowed to bounce back from the Abbey Bridge closure and breathe new life into the town.

Kim Dunn, chairman of Real Evesham: “You’ve got to have a laugh and a bit of fun.

“We all love this town, let’s all help make it as good as we can.”
