A UNIQUE scheme to brighten up the ground floor of Evesham Town Hall has been honoured by members of the town’s Civic Society.

Evesham Town Council was presented with a Merit Award in recognition of the display of photographs around the ground floor of the Town Hall.

The photographic display was funded by the Town Council and the work to enlarge the photographs and make the presentation was carried out by Areca Design in Evesham.

Town Mayor Charlie Homer thanked society members for their award and paid tribute to Town Clerk Stuart Carter and Emma

Haynes who sourced the photographs from her popular Facebook group ‘Photos and Memories of days past in Evesham’.

Society Chairman David Way, said: “The Civic Society considers this this is a great scheme by the Town Council, to show something of Evesham’s history and some regard to the appearance of the town hall which has looked rather neglected in the more recent past.”
