Evesham Editorial 28th Jun, 2017   0

GRAVITY defying sports and an RAF fly-past will be highlights at the popular Badsey Flower Show which is offering a dazzling mix of live entertainment this year.

The highlight in the main arena will be a breathtaking display by ‘Pedal Power vs Parkour’ – which is a combination of stunt cycle skills and parkour fitness with elite athletes pushing their abilities to the limits.

An RAF memorial Dakota will take to the skies for the event while there will be live music from ukulele band The Spa Strummers, traditional Scottish bagpipe music from Cheltenham’s St. Andrews Pipe Band and Evesham’s United Dance Academy.

The Dakota flypast is courtesy of Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and is subject to RAF service commitments.

The show will also feature circus skills from Magic Steve, a free mobile climbing tower, a fun dog show and a large marquee of exhibits from local amateur growers and producers.

In addition, the traditional mix of stalls, side-shows, children’s games and food and drink will all be in place.

Committee Chairman, Gordon Boon said: “The Badsey Flower Show attracts around 2,000 people each year and for 2017 we are especially pleased to have in our main arena, a live display from Pedal Power vs Parkour.

“This demonstration of airborne parkour and cycle skills promises some amazing entertainment for all ages.

“The Badsey Flower Show a wonderful, value for money family afternoon out – so do put the date in your diary now.”

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, July 22 at the Recreation Ground on Sands Lane in the village.

Gates open at 1pm until the event ends at 5pm and admission is £3 for adults, £2 for pensioners and £1 for children while car parking is free.
