Lest we forget....

Evesham Editorial 15th Nov, 2019   0

MEMBERS of Pershore Royal British Legion led the Remembrance Sunday parade through the heart of the town as residents stopped to remember all those who gave their lives.

After arriving at Pershore Abbey, a service of remembrance took place before the parade retraced its steps back to the town’s leisure centre.

Later on Sunday, members of the Royal British Legion, together with the Royal Naval Association made the trip to Wick to take part in the village’s Remembrance Service.

On Monday (November 11) there was an Armistice Day service at the Cross of Sacrifice in Pershore Cemetery and the two minute’s silence was observed in Chapman Court at 11am.

The Pershore and District Royal British Legion branch also had their Garden of Remembrance open throughout the weekend for residents to plant a cross in remembrance of the sacrifices made in various conflicts in defence of the freedom we enjoy today
