ASPRING artists across Pershore are being reminded the closing date for entries to this year’s Plum Festival children’s art competition is getting closer.
Entries close on Friday, July 7 for this year’s event which marks the 25th anniversary of the Pershore Plum Festival.
The competition has been generously sponsored this year by local estate agent, Sheldon Bosley Knight and is open to children aged four to 11-years-old with the theme 25 years of Pershore Plums
Children can create entries individually or schools can also create one artwork as a whole class.
There are lots of exciting art supplies up for grabs for the winners
Prizes will be awarded to all individual winning entrants. Bundle prizes will be awarded to schools of winning entrants in all categories.
Winning and commended entries will be exhibitied as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations over the August Bank Holiday weekend at the Pershore branch of Sheldon Bosley Knight
Holly Taylor, year 2 class teacher at Holy Redeemer Primary School said: “My year 2 class have loved learning about the Plum Festival and the local history, particularly looking at pictures from the past.
“We are excited to see their finished pieces”
