VALE residents are being invited to put their best foot forward at the annual Evesham Twilight Walk.

The popular event, now in its third year, has raised more than £20,000 for Cancer Research UK and will be looking to add to that total on Friday, May 27 at The De Monfort School.

The family fun event, which is organised and volunteered by Evesham Relay For Life, offers walking enthusiasts the chance to take part in a 10k or 5k route around the scenic riverside town.

Youngsters can add a splash of colour and light to the walk with glow stick and wristbands which will be on sale from the school’s hall before the event.

Organiser Mel Dean said: “More than 600 have taken part in the previous two events and it’s open to everyone of all ages and abilities.

“The 10k route will take about two hours to complete and there will be a halfway point where walkers can enjoy fruit and a drink to spur them on.

“We’re hoping to make this one bigger and better so come on down and have some fun as it’s all for a good cause.”

The walk will begin at 10pm and refreshments will be available on return.
