King of Rock 'n' Roll graces Evesham care home

IT WAS a day of joy and nostalgia for residents of an Evesham care home as an Elvis tribute performer graced their residence.

Staff at the Willow Bank Care Home say the air was filled with excitement as everyone gathered in the main lounge for the Elvis impersonator’s rock ‘n’ roll serenade.

As the first chords of ‘Jailhouse Rock’ echoed through the room, resident’s faces lit up with ‘joy and nostalgia’ as Elvis crooned and swivelled through his set.

The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s greatest hits brought back a flood of memories and had everyone singing along, some even taking to the dance floor with moves ‘to give Elvis a run for his money.’

Staff said it wasn’t just the music which made the day special, it was the laughter, the singing and the shared joy of being together.

“Seeing our residents so animated and happy was truly wonderful. It’s moments like these that really highlight the vibrant community spirit here at Willow Bank Care Home.

“A huge thank you to our ‘Elvis’ for making the afternoon so special,” said Carole Hall, the home manager.

As the final notes of ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ faded away, it was clear the afternoon would be talked about for a long time.
