A FREELANCE Drakes Broughton hair stylist has been named Midlands hairdresser of the year at the Midlands Beauty Industry Awards.
Jo Turner proved to be a cut above the rest at the ceremony on Sunday, October 20 when she was handed the top prize from a shortlist of 10 finalists who were all competing for the honour.
After working in the industry for more than 15 years and the birth of her son in 2017, Jo decided to start her own business to ensure she could achieve a work life balance for the benefit of her son.
Since embarking on her venture she has forged strong partnerships with wedding venues in Worcestershire and Warwickshire, offering a bespoke service for brides, in addition to a salon experience at home for her growing base of loyal customers.
“I’m completely shocked to have been chosen from the incredibly strong shortlist, I’m so grateful to my loyal client base who have supported me so much and I am delighted have achieved this recognition so soon after starting my new venture,” she said.
“This gives my inspiration to do so much more and I’m very excited about the future.”
