EVESHAM’s own Asparamancer Jemima Packington was the only pollster to predict the result of the recent Australian elections.
Beating the top Aussie pollsters, such as News Poll and Bert The Psychic Crocodile from the Northern Territories, Jemima, who uses spears of Vale of Evesham asparagus to make predictions, came out on top.
She was the only one to forecast a coalition Government in a result which surprised voters across Down Under.
First appearing on Australia’s Sunrise programme to make predictions about the birth of the Royal baby a few weeks ago, Jemima was invited back on national TV to take a look at the forthcoming election result.
With a throw of the spears, she announced her coalition findings to a sceptical audience who had to eat their words when she was found to be bang on.
She then appeared again on Australia’s Studio 10 programme and has become a bit of a celebrity down under, even receiving a marriage proposal from a sheep farmer over there.
She read the spears to predict how the outcome of such a union would work out for her, but the results were a little woolly.
