Jacob fund-raising for charitable trip

Evesham Editorial 18th Jun, 2019   0

AN ENTERPRISING Evesham student has kicked off a fund-raising bid to allow him to travel with Camps International to Tanzania for a month of personal development and charitable project work.

Jacob Goodall, a student at The De Montfort School hopes to raise £4,000 for the trip to help community development work, wildlife conservation and environmental conservation

On August 15, the 16-year-old will start his triathlon by swimming 1,085metres (the height of Snowdon) at Lenches lakes.

On day two and three he will be cycling approximately 160 miles from Evesham to Llanberis, which is at the base of Snowdon. He will be supported on this ride by his dad Simon Goodall and Marc Farmer.

The final day will see him walk from Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon, then descending back into Llanberis – a total of nine miles.

“I am really excited about the challenge planned it will be physically tiring but worth it to help raise money to get me to Tanzania. It will be a trip of a lifetime where I can help to make a difference in a country which is severely under-developed,” he said.

The teenager has attracted sponsorship from Kanes Food, Lenches Lakes and Scotts Plant and Haulage and anyone interested can follow his progress by searching for Jacobs Snowdon Challenge on Facebook.

He will carry sponsorship logos on his clothes during the triathlon, e-mail [email protected] for more.
