IT’S so annoying when you are in the middle of gardening or mowing the lawn when the front doorbell rings and you’re the only one in the house.
It can be the same when working on the computer and the telephone rings and you answer it to find no one on the other end of the line.
How annoying it always is.
In the gospel we read of the time when the shepherds were busy tending their sheep on the hillside outside the town of Bethlehem when they were suddenly interrupted by an Angel that appeared and explained that an important event had taken place in the town and they were invited to see it.
As they were entertained by songs from the Heavenly Choir they were bewildered and amazed but decided to go into town and see this great happening.
They expected to find this great event in a large house but to their surprise they were led to a stable at the back of the inn.
There they found a baby lying in a manger and His parents alongside.
Although they were humble, unschooled men they soon realised that this was indeed a great event, the birth of the Son of God, Jesus Christ who had come to redeem mankind from their sin.
As we celebrate Christmas let us open our lives to let Jesus in as Lord and Saviour and experience a truly wonderful Christmas.
