MEMBERS of the Phoenix Theatre Group are about to see the curtain go up on their annual pantomime.

Dick Whittington takes to the stage at the Henrician Theatre next week 12 months after the lights went out for the group because of the pandemic.

Production director Mike Robinson said the cast of 40 were looking forward to getting back on stage.

“It has become a firm family favourite with so many Evesham people. It’s been difficult rehearsing, having put in place extra measures to try and ensure the pandemic does not affect our plans,” he said.

“Rehearsals are going well and we’ve got all the singing and dancing, fun and slapstick comedy people have come to expect from the group. The pantomime as ever is a traditional one, suitable for all ages.”

The show runs from Wednesday (January 19) to next Sunday (January 23) with evening performance at 7.30pm and two weekend matinees at 2.30pm.

Tickets are available from the theatre website or the Tracey Sollis Leukaemia Trust shop in the Library Arcade on Evesham High Street.
