HARD-WORKING traders across Evesham have unveiled their latest bid to attract more shoppers into the area.

Members of Real Evesham have revealed ‘The Vale Lottery’ to be launched later this month with the first draw on March 28.

Everything from the licence through to the tickets and distribution points are all in place for the monthly draw which will be administered by the Real Evesham group ‘The Bengeworth and Evesham Independent’.

Organiser Kim Dunn is throwing her enthusiasm into it, along with committee members Russel Theron and Debs Rolls.

“It’s a win/win scheme. People taking part will win serious cash prizes and it will raise funds for future projects in the area, this could go huge.” she said.

The prize pot each month will be split between the winners with a first prize of 60 per cent of the money collected with runners up taking home 25 per cent of the pot.

Third and fourth placed winners will scoop 10 per cent and five per cent of the cash respectively.

To ensure the lottery remains local, tickets will only be sold in the WR10, WR11 or WR12 postal areas and ticket sales are limited to 20,000 per month.

A vast range of Evesham traders will be selling tickets including Port Street shops; Plan b computers, BONK, Bubbles Laundrette, Sunsational Tanning Shop, The Warehouse and the Port Street Fruit and Veg Shop.

Evesham Green Grocer, Proper Pasty Co, Cartridge World and The Almonry will be among the shops in and around the High Street selling tickets.

Popular Pershore businesses Three Little Pigs and Betty and Dukes are also lending their support to the scheme and organisers hope more shops will be added in the near future.

“All operated as a not for profit project, and the funds raised will be put into future community projects.” Kim added.

“Please help support your town and join in the Vale Lottery!”
