THERE’LL be plenty of drama in Bretforton this week, as Bretforton Amateur Dramatics (BAD Theatre) stage Gaslight®, the classic psychological thriller, from Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 November at Bretforton Theatrebarn.
Patrick Hamilton’s Gaslight® is a gripping tale of secrets and deception. Set in Victorian London, the play follows Bella Manningham, whose sanity is shaken as her husband, Jack, manipulates her perception of the truth.
With each dimming of the gaslights, the tension mounts in a chilling exploration of the darkness that hides behind closed doors.

Alice London, chair of BAD Theatre, said: “As the nights draw in and the evenings take on a darker tone, we felt it was the perfect time to present our first psychological drama.
“Gaslight® is a masterpiece of playwriting, and we hope it will keep audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish.”
The performance is taking place at the spectacular Bretforton Theatrebarn – a hidden gem of a theatre, housed in a magnificent medieval tithe barn, with comfortable, raked seating, plus bar for pre and post-show drinks.
Performances start at 7.30pm, with a matinee at 2pm on Saturday. The bar opens an hour before the Show for pre-theatre drinks.
