VALE residents are being invited to attend an interactive health market stall in Evesham next Tuesday (January 31).
The local public health team for Wychavon District Council will be running the interactive health stall at Market Place from 9am until 2pm.
At the stall residents will be able to calculate the number of units they drink, test their units knowledge, take part in a quiz and take away information containing health advice to do with alcohol consumption.
Coun Gerry O’Donnell, the portfolio holder responsible for promoting health and wellbeing at Wychavon District Council, said: “The market stall will be a great chance for people in Evesham to come along and get a better understanding about alcohol units and to get a better idea as to the amount they’re actually drinking.
Reducing alcohol consumption has many health benefits, including being a great way to reduce calorie intake and so support those who are looking to achieve a healthy weight.”
Coun John Smith, Chairman of the Health and Wellbeing Board at Worcestershire County Council, said: “It’s great to see local action on this important topic.
“I am delighted that people are being given the opportunity to find out more about safe drinking, and I hope that the event goes well.”
