PLANNING chiefs at Wychavon District Council have given the thumbs up to plans for 50,000 sq ft of industrial space at Vale Park in Evesham.

The development, Asparagus Point, will comprise a single 15,000 sq ft unit and eight units, totalling 39,450 sq ft and ranging in size from 3,500 sq ft – 6,000 sq ft. There will also be 92 car parking spaces.

The smaller units will be built on a speculative basis. The 15,000 sq ft unit is currently under offer.

Developer Hortons’ Estate Limited has awarded the £2.6million construction contract to J Tomlinson. Work is due to commence on site in immediately, with completion scheduled for October.

Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’ Estate, said: “This is a major step forward for the development. Now that planning approval has been granted, we’re looking forward to getting on site and delivering a quality scheme that will provide much needed industrial space to the local market.”

Vale Park is a well-established business park, strategically located on the A46 with links to the M5 and M42.

Agents for the development are Fisher German and Harris Lamb.
