VISITORS showed their support for one of the largest Second World War military vehicle and re-enactment events in the country.

This year’s Wartime in the Vale celebrations at Ashdown Farm in Badsey attracted more than 500 vehicles to mark a welcome return for the popular event after the pandemic.

Organisers were extremely proud to have been asked to hold the official gathering for the 80yrs+1 anniversary of the Iconic Diamond T truck at its 2022 show.

Visitors turned up in period dress and stepped back in time to be entertained by aircraft, battles, military stalls, mini tank rides, dance and singing acts, including the renowned Kitty Ribbons and DJ Woody at War.

There were also classic and commercial vehicles on display, arena events in the camp, a children’s fayre and parades.

The Wartime in the Vale event has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2007 and once again welcomed charities such as St Richard’s Hospice and the Royal British Legion.

And a date in the diary has already been marked for the 2023 version of the event, with battle set to recommence on June 17 and 18.
