THOUSANDS of visitors took a step back in time as Evesham’s Medieval Market once again took over the town.
An estimated 20,000 visitors packed into Evesham over the weekend as the market held stalls and entertainment in Market Square, All Saint’s Church Grounds, St Lawrence’s Church, the Evesham Abbey ruins and the top of Abbey Park.
A living history display of arms and armour was among the highlights with more than 120 re-enactors representing life in each century, from Vikings to the War of the Roses.
Traders from across England, Wales, Scotland and Germany including many local artisan traders and 30 local community and charities were on hand to raise money for the popular Battle of Evesham festival on August 6 and 7.
