FOOD lovers flocked to Evesham to savour the taste of the town’s first food festival as more than 10,000 visitors attended the two-day event.
Crown Meadow featured more than 60 stalls selling a wide variety of food and drink and visitors were able to tuck into food from a range of international cuisines, while also sampling locally produced cheese, cake, pickles and more.
There was live music and entertainment to enjoy in the sunshine, including face painting, a fun fair and balloon modelling.
Blue Strawberry Events, the company behind the popular Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival, organised the festival with support from the Vale of
Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association (VECTA) and Wychavon District Council.
And council chiefs have already turned their focus to next year’s event with a vow to make it bigger and better.
Coun Richard Morris, executive board member for Economic Growth and Tourism on Wychavon District Council, said: “It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves at Evesham’s first food festival, which did a brilliant job of celebrating the local area and produce.
“I can’t wait to see how we build on it next year.”
