'Idiots' seen 'setting off firework rockets' across Evesham road

Evesham Editorial 9th Nov, 2017   0

POLICE were called to Port Street yesterday evening after ‘idiots’ were seen ‘setting off firework rockets’ across a road.

West Mercia Police received a report of anti-social behaviour at about 5.20pm.

But when officers arrived at the scene the culprits involved had fled the area.

One eyewitness, who was driving along the road at the time of the incident, said they saw ‘firework rockets’ being fired across the road from Workman Bridge and had to do an emergency stop to avoid being hit.

She said one pedestrian also narrowly avoided being hit by a firework.

West Mercia Police’s investigation is ongoing, but anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 565S of Wednesday, November 8.

Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
