A BUSY Evesham road has now reopened after a lorry crashed into lamppost this morning.

It happened at about 4.30am on the A44 at the Norton roundabout.

It’s believed a red Scania artic lorry collided with a lamp post according to a West Mercia Police spokesperson. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

West Ambulance Service treated the male driver for minor injuries and he was later discharged at the scene.

It resulted in traffic chaos for drivers as they were urged to avoid the area.

At 8am highways teams closed the road to clear up the spillage the lorry had left behind.

The road was reopened three hours later at about 11.15am.
