MILLIONS of UK workers will get a pay rise this week as changes to National Insurance come into effect.
From Wednesday (July 6), the threshold at which Worcestershire workers start paying National Insurance rises from £9,880 to £12,570.
As a result, an estimated two million workers on low incomes will pay no National Insurance at all while more will see a reduction in their tax bill.
Despite millions of workers seeing tax rises at the start of the new tax year, Chancellor Rishi Sunak said seven out of 10 people will be paying less National Insurance following the changes this week.
The government has introduced an online calculator which will show how much more of your pay you will keep as a result of the National Insurance changes.
