LITTER pickers braved the rain to clear waste from Evesham’s Riverside during an event organised by the town’s anti-litter group.
Among the 20 volunteers was a large number from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and altogether 28 bags of litter and various large items were collected from the riverside.
The group’s Bruce Taylor said: “By cleaning the riverbanks, we are stopping plastic litter floating off down to the sea, so it is really worthwhile.
“It was also good for the reason that we had a number of new faces to add to our ever-growing list of volunteers. Thanks to everyone involved on behalf of Evesham Anti-Litter Group, your support is greatly appreciated.”
