How often have we heard the cry, “It will never work” - Something to Think About

How often have we heard the cry, “It will never work”.

In December 1903, the Wright Brothers covered a distance of just 36 metres in a flight that lasted only 12 seconds, in their ‘Flying machine’.

They telegraphed their sister with the message, “We have actually flown 120 feet. Will be home for Christmas.”

She hurried to the editor of the local newspaper and showed him the message and he remarked, “How nice, the boys will be home for Christmas, enjoy the time”.

He completely missed the point.

Sitting in my garden on a bright summer’s day, I look up and see numerous vapour trails left by the airliners and I marvel that it all came about because of two brothers doing the ‘impossible’.

To the Disciples of Jesus Christ, the future looked impossible after the death of their Leader. What would they do?

But it all happened just as Jesus had told them so many times. He had to die but He would rise again from the dead and they would be empowered by the Holy Spirit to go into all the world with the Good News of the Gospel.

Today that message is proclaimed loud and clear all over the world and millions are responding, accepting and believing the Good News of God’s Love and Salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.
