Housing association brings some seasonal cheer to the Vale

AN EVESHAM-BASED housing association has brought the spirit of the season to life by supporting families and individuals with festive Christmas hampers and treats.

Rooftop Housing Group has partnered with volunteers from Caring Hands in the Vale to deliver 40 festive hampers with seasonal delights, such as sweets, non-perishable food items, and toys for children.

The goodwill gesture is part of Rooftop’s commitment to supporting the local community during challenging times with the ongoing cost of living crisis and soaring energy bills.

Staff who work directly with customers played a key role in identifying those most in need and helped distribute the hampers, ensuring that they reached the right homes.

Additionally, members of its customer scrutiny panel supported Rooftop’s domestic abuse team by collecting Christmas chocolate and sweets and delivering them to one-to-one and safe house clients.

The remaining items were shared with West Mercia Women’s Aid Refuge, further extending the reach of this effort to support vulnerable individuals and families this Christmas.

Mark McEgan, executive director of operations, at Rooftop Housing Group, said: “Christmas can be a challenging time for many, and through the partnership with Caring Hands and the dedication of our teams and customer representatives, we’re working together and making a real difference.

“These hampers are more than just gifts, they’re a symbol of community, care, and togetherness during the festive season. Through the collaboration of Rooftop staff, customers and volunteers, we spread holiday cheer and make things better for families or individuals in need.”

The housing association donated £500 worth of food for the hampers, while staff donated chocolate and advent calendars.
