Historic Vale hotel on the market

AN HISTORIC Vale hotel which dates back to the mid 1880s is up for sale for offers over £6million.

Colliers International is marketing the 38-bedroom Dumbleton Hall Hotel which is set in nearly 16 acres.

The Cotswold manor house is close to Cheltenham and within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Colliers is acting on behalf of Post Office Fellowship of Remembrance (POFR) which is seeking offers for the freehold hotel which is located within stunning parkland, complete with ornamental lake.

The house boasts 38 en-suite bedrooms, a substantial restaurant, well-furnished and grand public spaces as well as the vast grounds.

Peter Brunt, director of Hotels Agency at Colliers International, said: “In my opinion, this is the most significant single asset hotel opportunity to become available in the Cotswolds for a generation.

“It is not common to find a combination of accessibility and seclusion, but Dumbleton Hall offers both, and adds to that beautiful architecture plus an exquisite setting and therefore it gives the opportunity to create an outstanding hotel of very rare quality.”

Julian Troup, head of Hotels Agency at Colliers, said: “Nationally we are seeing great demand for quality hotel assets like Dumbleton Hall.

“This demand comes not only from UK-based owners and investors but also, and in significant numbers, from overseas buyers – for example, from India, China, South Africa and the USA.

“We have been successful in generating strong competition for similar hotels in a number of locations over the last 18 months through the strength of Colliers’ hotel teams here in the UK and across the globe.

“I am sure Dumbleton Hall will appeal greatly to buyers seeking an already established and successful business that has scope to grow significantly.”
