CAPTAIN America was on hand to help fund-raisers from Help for Heroes and Tesco Evesham raise cash by the bucket load.

Former Royal Marine Commando Ryan Payne appeared as Captain America along with his son Harry and fellow Gloucestershire Troopers Darth Nihilus and Snow Scout Trooper to help local Help for Heroes volunteers Tony Potter and Ian Baldry raise more than £900 in donations.

Help for Heroes provides a range of physical and mental health assessments, treatment and support to those veterans who have suffered a life changing injury or illness during or as a result of their military service.

The charity gives them and their loved ones, the strength to recover and get on with their lives.

“We are most grateful to the Gloucestershire Troopers, who support different charities by attending their local fund-raising events,in helping to raise this significant sum of money,” Mr Baldry said.

“Our thanks also to Clare Plowman Tesco Community Champion for Evesham for all of her assistance and of course to all the customers who kindly made a donation”
