Help 'loveable' Ross the Greyhound find a forever home this Easter

Evesham Editorial 25th Mar, 2024   0

A four-year-old greyhound at Dogs Trust Evesham is hoping his fabulous bunny-esque ears might help to find him a new home this Easter.

Ross arrived in the kennel’s care at the start of the year and since then has proven to be a loveable goofball who enjoys playing and interacting with humans.

He is an ex-racing greyhound, so staff at the rehoming centre don’t know if he has ever lived in a home before, but he’s a clever lad and his carers are confident he will settle well in a new home.

Due to being an ex-racer, Ross wears a muzzle for his walks and will need to be kept on lead. He’ll also need a home with a secure garden so he can enjoy for lots of off-lead fun.

Ross could live with secondary aged children but is a bit too big and clumsy to live with young children.

Chris Slight, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Evesham, said:

“Ross is a brilliant dog, full of character and he is so affectionate towards the staff caring for him. But what really stands out are his incredible ears – he looks just like the Easter Bunny.

“We’re hoping this Easter, those ears will help us to find Ross his forever home; his ‘hoppily ever after’.”

Ross is currently sharing his kennel at Dogs Trust with fellow ex-racing greyhound, Millie, who is also looking for her forever home.

As he gets on so well with Millie, staff are confident Ross could live with another dog of similar breed and temperament.

Like Ross, very little is known about Millie’s history, but she is very affectionate and loves fuss, especially ear rubs. Millie could live with another calm dog and secondary school aged children.
