HEATWAVE LATEST: Thunderstorms possible tomorrow as Met Office issues warning

Evesham Editorial 19th Jul, 2022   0

AS EVESHAM and Pershore swelter on what is expected to be the hottest day ever recorded in the UK, the Met Office has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms.

Forecasters have issued a warning for a thundery breakdown from the heat tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon.

The warning comes as the all-time highest temperature record for the UK looks to have been broken this morning (Tuesday) as Charlwood in Surrey has recorded 39.1 celsius, beating the 38.7 figure recorded in Cambridge in 2019.

Forecasters have warned the temperatures will continue to rise throughout the day.

Any disruption from thunderstorms is expected between 1pm and 9pm tomorrow though the current forecast for the Vale is sunny intervals during the afternoon after a cloudy morning.

Temperatures are expected to be way down on today’s record threatening highs with a maximum of 24 or 25 degrees celsius possible.
