SMILES were brought to the face of a Cavendish Park Care Home resident thanks to the home’s inspirational activity co-ordinator.
During a reminiscence afternoon, resident Heather recalled how she loved camping holidays with her family.
The canvas, the stars in the night sky, hot chocolate and listening to the night creatures, all wonderful memories of holidays, sun, friends and family.
So, with the recent good weather, the home’s activity co-ordinator organised a ‘just for me moment’, and her dream of sleeping under the stars once more came true.
Armed with a tent, camping chairs, air beds and sleeping bags, the pair loved helping to put the tent up, laughing and remembering how there was always a last minute search for the pegs.
Then they watched the sun set in the beautiful garden, drinking hot chocolate and watching the stars come out.
They also saw the bats who have taken up residence in the homes bat houses.
