VISITORS flocked to a free community event promoting a healthier life which was held at Evesham Leisure Centre.

The Living Well event offered free and informative help and advice on a wide range of health matters with a variety of organisations present.

Physical and mental health is hugely important and groups attending the event were on hand to offer information on a wide range of activities available which can help combat social isolation which is often the cause of anxiety, a condition affecting the mental health of many today.

Dedicated professionals descended on the Abbey Road venue for the fourth year as organisations from across the county and beyond brought a wealth of inspiration to Evesham.

Information and expertise was on offer in abundance to all who attended the unique event which covers so many aspects of health and well-being.

Organisers once again hailed the event as networking opportunity for professionals alongside being a great destination for members of the community.

Coun Chris Day, executive board member for Housing, Health and Wellbeing at Wychavon District Council said: “It was inspiring to see how the many healthcare and voluntary groups in and around Wychavon are working so well together to give the best possible outcomes for health and well-being in the district.”

Vicky Blake spokesperson for New College Worcester, echoed his thoughts and said: “It has been such a positive trip for the college, we have made some excellent links.

“The opportunity it has given our students to show off their skills and develop their confidence in speaking to the public as ambassadors of NCW is amazing,” she added.

Visitor Helen Homer was especially pleased as she brought along her mum who recently moved to the area from Cornwall.

“‘My mum needs more help and care now and we came along today and were impressed to find so much information,” she said.

“She’s delighted and feels so welcome and is settling into her new home.”

Organisers have revealed their hopes the exhibition will continue into a fifth year
