BISHAMPTON and District Gardening Club are preparing to hold their annual festival of family fun, the Bishampton Summer Show.

The summertime event will host a wide range of flowers, vegetables, cakes, preserves, photography and crafts, including a special children’s section on Saturday (August 15).

Visitors to the show can chose to exhibit and marvel at the floral displays or take part, where entries will be judged and points will be awarded in each category.

A total of 12 trophies are on offer for participants across 11 sections of the show’s competition including flowers, vegetables, pot plants, floral art, fruit, home produce, homemade wine, crafts and containers.

Lesley Miller, one of the event organisers said: “We’re inviting everyone to come along and have a go at all the wonderful activities we’ll have on offer.

“As well as fruit and vegetables, there will be cakes, wine, jams, crafts and even circus skills!

“The top prizes are being sponsored by the Garden News magazine and the Wychavon ‘Get Active’ Roadshow will be coming along too.

“We’ll be providing something for all the family to enjoy on what should be another great summer show.”

The event takes place in Bishampton Village Hall from 2pm to 4pm.

Admission costs 50p for adults and is free for children and exhibitors.
