A BUDDING Badsey builder has proven you are never too young to think about a career in the construction industry.
Five-year-old Harry Sanders recently moved with his family to a new housing development in the village and has become enthralled with the ongoing construction of new homes
Developers Cameron Homes have taken him to their hearts and led by site mangaer Andy Horton, the team have encouraged him to get involved in their work there.
Proud mum Katie Sanders said: “Our two boys are the only children on the site at the moment and as soon as Andy knew Harry had an interest in building, diggers and machines etc he’s gone the extra mile to make him feel special – including giving him a plan of our house with a clipboard which he could put his own measurements and drawings on.
“Harry even tells Andy when he thinks something’s wrong or not finished!
“Andy has dealt with every query, problem and request efficiently and professionally. Harry couldn’t wait to tell everyone Bengeworth CE Academy about sitting in a big crane on site.
“Thanks to Cameron we have one very happy little boy,” she added.
Mr Horton, site manager at the Hartwell Grange development, said he was delighted to have a new budding builder on the site.
“He pretends he’s one of the team here -.he wants to know everything that’s going on,” he said.
“We have given Harry a clipboard with site plans, presented him with his own high vis jacket and hard hat and let him sit in our cranes and diggers.
“It is great that he is so enthusiastic and hopefully one day may make a career in the construction industry – you are never too young to start planning ahead!”
