WITH cycling fever gripping the county Pershore’s MP showed her support by riding her bike through the streets of London.
Harriet Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, cycled to work in Westminster to mark the arrival of the Tour of Britain hitting the streets of Evesham, Pershore and Broadway.
The prestigious race swept through the county on Wednesday (September 10) and saw superstars Sir Bradley Wiggins and
Mark Cavendish grace the Vale.
Harriett said: “Unfortunately, I will be in Westminster when the Tour travels through Worcestershire and will miss out on seeing the spectacle.
“I couldn’t be further towards the other end of the cycling spectrum myself, but I cycle to work in Westminster quite often and I wanted to mark the arrival of the tour in the county by hopping on my bike and showing support for the race.
“Worcestershire is a wonderful place for taking part in this increasingly popular sport and it’s also a low-cost, healthy and zero-carbon way of commuting to work.”
