A SUCCESSFUL fund-raising open day at the Wallace House Community Centre in Evesham has helped them raise vital funds to replace the windows of their sports hall.
The open day featured a silent auction, tombola, face painting, free cake and a chance to meet and have a photo taken with a real barn owl, called Moomin.
Following the event, the £400 raised will go towards the centre’s Sports Hall refurbishment project.
Organisers at the centre are now calling for volunteers to help out at Wallace House with the food larder, front of house in the coffee bar, maintenance, painting and fundraising.
The next event at the centre will be their craft fair on September 30 from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
Wallace House Community Centre also has various groups to attend throughout the week including football (aged 16 and over) and a new martial arts club on Tuesday’s from 7pm to 8pm and a craft club on Thursday’s from 10am to 12 noon.
The Basement Project, which helps people aged 25 and under with budgeting, debt, mental health and well-being also host a session at the centre every Friday from 12 noon.
