HEALTHY living advice and tips to improve or maintain memory will be on the menu at an event at Evesham Town Hall on Wednesday.
The ‘Living Well for a Healthier Memory’ event brings together a wide-range of organisations, including Age UK, West Mercia Police, Evesham Dementia Alliance and the Parkinson’s Society, plus many more to help people with any memory concerns they might have.
The event will feature talks by Co-op Estate Planning, Dementia Friends, Adult Social Services, the Stroke Association and Community Dental Health.
There will also be an opportunity to get involved in a number of activities and health checks, including art workshops, seated exercise, gentle massage, equipment demonstrations and blood pressure checks.
Vale residents of all ages are being invited to the event at the Town Hall on Wednesday (February 20) from 10am to 3pm.
Dr Julia Lloyd, GP at Abbey Medical Practice, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for patients in the local area to meet staff from a very wide range of agencies and organisations providing support to people living with memory problems.
“There’s also the opportunity to learn how lifestyle changes can help reduce the risks of developing memory problems in later life. The event is the culmination of a huge amount of work by Carolyn Pym, memory loss adviser at Abbey Medical Practice, in developing the concept and gaining support from patient-focused agencies, and by colleagues in other local medical practices in promoting the event far and wide.
“We’re also extremely grateful to Wychavon District Council and South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group for their support in making the event a reality.
“We very much hope the public will come along on the day to meet the agencies involved and see the remarkable range of help and services on offer.”
