Gritters out across the Vale as temperatures plummet

Lorna Morris 28th Nov, 2016   0

GRITTERS will be out on the roads tonight as temperatures are set to plummet below zero.

The highways team will head out onto the county’s primary routes for a precautionary gritting from 6.30pm tonight (Monday) after a cold weather alert was issued by the Met Office.

Temperatures are predicted to reach – 7 degrees in places and after a bright, dry afternoon with only small amounts of cloud it will remain clear and dry overnight.

This means the road surface temperatures will fall widely below freezing from around mid evening, with a patchy frost developing in places.

The outlook for tomorrow morning remains cold with a sunny start to the day.
