Grave thieves strike again as more solar lights reported stolen

Evesham Editorial 24th Aug, 2017   0

THERE has been more reports to the police of solar lights being stolen from the side of a grave at an Evesham cemetery.

The Observer first reported last week how callous thieves stole 15 solar lights sometime between 4.30pm on Monday (August 14) and 4pm on Tuesday (August 15) at the Waterside Cemetery.

Now it seems the callous thieves have struck again with two new reports made to West Mercia Police of solar lights being taken from the side of a grave.

It’s believed that between 9am on Saturday, August 12 and 9am on Saturday, August 19 six solar lights were taken.

And then another theft took place between 5pm on Wednesday, August 16 and 4.30pm on Thursday, August 17.

Anyone with information is urged to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 0706S of Saturday, August 19 and 0563S of Thursday, August 17.

Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
